Practicing kaaj, levelling line, hemb and tich

Objectives: At the end of this exercise you shall be able to
• practice kaaj embroidery
• practice hemb embroidery
• practice tich embroidery (dot design / dot filling)
• practice levelling line of design.

Requirements
Materials

• Cloth - 1 No. • Thimble - 1 No.
• Needle - 1 No. • Thread - as reqd.

PROCEDURE

TASK 1: Practice kaaj embroidery (blanket stitch)

1 Start the embroidery where you want the edge of the Fig 3
stitch to be. (Fig 1)

4 Pull the stitch through. (Fig 4)

2 Take the needle down away from the line and back Fig 4
up on the line. (Fig 2)

5 Repeat the process, keeping the stitches separate
and the same length. (Fig 5)
6 Kaaj is ready (Fig 6)
3 Bring the needle back up on the baseline, over the
working thread. (Fig 3)
